Art of the Mixtape
With BAE BAE
When: Sunday November 14th, 2021
Time: 12:00pm PST (2:00pm CST)
Kumi James a.k.a. BAE BAE taught our workshop participants about the art of constructing a mix using a linear digital audio workstation (DAW). This workshop focused on the use of emotion, rhythm, and narrative to create a meaningful sonic experience through the production of a sound and music mix. Participants were encouraged to have prepared a folder with music, sound clips (which could include interviews or media clips of someone you admire or a significant moment in history), songs, and other sonic resources. Participants were asked to download Ableton Live trial (preferably) or Audacity in preparation for the session.
Kumi James (BAE BAE) is an experienced dj, producer, and sound artist.
