Art Healing with Victoria Thompson

12-1:30pm PST/ 3-4:30pm EST

Join Victoria Thompson for a restorative virtual painting session. Awaken your inner child and dormant creativity by using what you have to create a work of art.

In this session, you will vote to either paint mountains with clouds around them, or a holiday ornament scene:

You will need:

  • a canvas

  • For the Mountains: Black, white, red(or pink), and blue paint (I will be using a mixture of water color paint and acrylic paint) For the Holiday scene: blue (preferably water color because it dries faster), white, yellow, green (you can use two shades of green to create more depth), brown, and red (or whichever color you want your ornament to be)

  • Paint brushes (since I am still new to this, I can’t give you the exact names of the brushes so I’ll post a picture of the super cheap $5 pack that I purchased at Michael’s. Also if you already have a few and you think it’ll get the job done, this will be a fairly easy job so go for it)

  • A cup of water (for your brushes)

  • A paint pallet or something that could serve as a paint pallet (it could be like a piece of plastic but also be careful not to spill!)

I started art nights with the basic goal of creating something by the end of the night. I completely understand if you don’t have these supplies or are not willing to purchase them. If you have random crayons and you want to color a picture that is totally fine! This is a self care night, create anything you want and we’ll share them at the end.

Victoria Thompson is an actress currently living in Chicago, IL. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Drama from the University of California, Irvine and is a current graduate student earning her Master’s of fine arts in Acting from DePaul University. She is scheduled to graduate this coming June of 2021! Since our stay-at-home order has been put into play, Victoria has started online “art nights” with her friends all over the country. In doing so, she has found a new love for painting. Though it is still a hobby, she has painted for some of her family and friends who currently have her work displayed in their homes.
